The Sights and Sounds Of Lovely Klungkung, Bali

Of the different regencies or districts in Bali, “The Island of The Gods”, Klungkung may be the smallest, but it's definitely not bereft of any noteworthy attractions of places of interests. The place is steeped in history, as it was once the seat of the mighty Majapahit empire in the 15th and 16th centuries, and in 1908 it became the last kingdom to hold out and resist the Dutch invaders. The King of Klungkung, also called “Dewa Agu” or Great God, even led the suicidal march of 200 of his family and followers against the Dutch army.  Here's a peek at the sights and sounds of lovely Klungkung.
Kamasan Village
Klungkung is a quite small and quaint town, which is not hard to familiarise with. One of the top tourist attractions In Bali Indonesia, and in Klungkung, is Kamasan Village.
Kamasan Village is located south out of the town on Jalan Puputan towards Gegel, and this ancient village is the centre of the classical “wayang” style of painting. Visitors will enjoy visiting the different art studios, and there's a healthy amount of art to ogle and appreciate too.
Pura Masceti
Pura masceti is an ornate and elaborately-decorated temple which is often the staging point for many purification ceremonies on the nearby beaches.  The temple is perhaps the least well-known and least-visited of Bali's 9 directional temples, but it definitely is truly worth visiting.
Taman Gili
Visitors to Taman Gili will discover the remains of the original palace of the Klungkung royal family. Tourists will also find interesting remnants such as the painted ceiling of the Kerta Gosa pavilion, which features classical wayang art.
Goa Lawah
Goa Lawah, or the Bat Cave, is crammed with thousands of bats which are mostly unseen during the day, but definitely not unheard of. The cave is actually part of a temple which is believed to lead all the way to Besakh, although no one has yet to fully verify it.
Kusamba Beach
Kusamba Beach is one of the most scenic spots in Klungkung, where tourists will find the coast lined with colourful fishing boats, and offers scenic views of the surrounding islands too. The area's exotic tropical feel will also make visitors stay a little longer, so they can hang their feet up, and simply let loose! These are but a few of the many things to do and see in Bali, as well as in Klungkung!
